Virginia Tech Dressage Team
The dressage team is coached by Beth Sheely on campus. In order to be eligible to compete, riders must be enrolled in a riding class that meets twice a week as a part of the Animal and Poultry Sciences Department. Contact the team managers for more information about the team!

Requirements
- Register with IDA and pay membership dues
- Active member of the Equestrian Club: Meaning paying dues ($50/year) and completing the club contract on time (By the end of the second club meeting of the semester)
- Attend all Equestrian Club meetings with two absences excused and complete your hour/points requirements.
- Show costs will include a $35/test, and $25/DSE class (if offered). Each rider only rides one test and in one DSE class MAXIMUM (if offered) at each show.

IMPORTANT - No one can ride without attending an orientation and submitting the following at tryouts and orientation.

3. Copy of front/back of your insurance card

Meet Our Coach
Beth Sheely is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Masters in Agriculture Education. After graduation, she was the Assistant Equestrian coach here under “T” McDonald and managed the Campbell facility. Pursuing her coaching career, Beth was the head coach for the University of Mary Washington IHSA team for several years prior to coaching and instructing at Bridgewater College. During this time, she has coached a 7th and 5th place overall Hunt Seat Equitation team and several individual National Champions. She returned here to Virginia Tech in 2016 to be a faculty member, as she is an avid Hokie at heart.
Fall 2020 Tryouts:
Tryouts will be held Saturday, August 22nd, 2020. Those interested in trying out must watch the recoded zoom meeting, and sign up for a time slot in the Google drive. The link to those items can be found here:
